“Arise. Awake. Having approached the excellent teachers, understand. The wise say the path is difficult, like the sharp edge of a razor.”
Vedika source-faithful rendering checked against the Sanskrit text of Kaṭha Upanishad 1.3.14; not a quoted published translation.
“Many spiritual traditions begin with comfort. The Upanishads begin with a challenge: arise, awake, and seek wisdom from those who have truly seen.”
Arise, awake, and learn from the wise. Katha Upanishad 1.3.14
Vedika commentary
Traditional Vedānta reads this as a call to approach qualified teachers because Self-knowledge is subtle and cannot be reduced to casual opinion or inherited identity.
Vedika distinguishes the original Sanskrit, a literal rendering, and an interpretive paraphrase so that the words of the text are never confused with explanation.
