नारदस्तु तदर्पिताखिलाचारता तद्विस्मरणे परमव्याकुलतेति ॥
nāradas tu tad-arpitākhilācāratā tad-vismaraṇe parama-vyākulateti ||
“Nārada, however, says: the state of offering all conduct to Him, and supreme anguish at forgetting Him.”
Vedika literal rendering; tad refers to the Divine object of devotion in the text
“Bhakti is not confined to a prayer corner. Nārada describes a life whose actions are offered to the Divine and whose deepest longing is not to lose remembrance.”

Vedika commentary
Offering an action changes its centre: the question becomes not only “What will I get?” but “Can this be placed before the Divine?” The verse’s longing is devotional, not a demand for anxious self-monitoring.
Vedika distinguishes the original Sanskrit, a literal rendering, and an interpretive paraphrase so that the words of the text are never confused with explanation.
