“One who lives while carefully perceiving Your compassion, even while experiencing the ripened result of one’s own action, and offers reverence to You with heart, speech and body, becomes an heir to the abode of liberation.”
Vedika literal rendering, checked against the original text
“Devotion does not deny pain. It keeps heart, speech and action turned toward the Divine while difficulty is honestly lived through.”
One who perceives Your compassion while living through the ripening results of one’s own actions, and offers reverence with heart, speech and body, becomes an heir to liberation. Śrīmad Bhāgavata Purāṇa 10.14.8
Vedika commentary
The verse joins accountability with grace: actions have consequences, yet the devotee does not reduce life to punishment. Reverence in heart, words and body becomes a way of remaining related to the Divine without pretending that pain is easy or good.
Vedika distinguishes the original Sanskrit, a literal rendering, and an interpretive paraphrase so that the words of the text are never confused with explanation.
