Vedika paraphrase

Wisdom is not passive obedience. Hear the teaching, examine it completely, and take responsibility for the action you choose.

Thus I have declared to you knowledge more secret than the secret. Reflect on it fully; then act as you choose. Bhagavad Gītā 18.63

Vedika commentary

The freedom here is neither impulsiveness nor detachment from relationship. Arjuna has listened, questioned and received guidance; now he must deliberate and act. The verse respects agency while keeping choice answerable to truth, duty and consequence.

Vedika distinguishes the original Sanskrit, a literal rendering, and an interpretive paraphrase so that the words of the text are never confused with explanation.
