“All this—whatever moves in this moving world—is to be enveloped by the Lord. Through that relinquishment, protect or enjoy; do not covet. Whose indeed is wealth?”
Vedika deliberately retains the semantic range of vāsyam and bhuñjīthā; Vedānta traditions render and interpret these terms differently.
“Reverence changes ownership into stewardship: use what is given, release the claim of absoluteness and resist coveting what belongs to another.”
Īśā Upaniṣad 1
Vedika commentary
The mantra does not ask us to despise the world. It asks us to inhabit it without converting use into absolute possession. Enjoyment restrained by relinquishment becomes stewardship; coveting weakens when we remember that every object already stands within a larger sacred whole.
Vedika distinguishes the original Sanskrit, a literal rendering, and an interpretive paraphrase so that the words of the text are never confused with explanation.
