Guha is the Niṣāda chief at Śṛṅgaverapura on the Gaṅgā. He serves the exiles generously. He is a king in his own right, with boats, men and his own judgement of who deserves them. When Bharata's army appears he suspects the worst, and his loyalty shows a sharper edge than his hospitality.
