Sampāti
Elder brother of Jaṭāyu. His wings were burned long ago when he shielded Jaṭāyu from the sun. As he gives the news, they grow again.

Sampāti fell burned from the sky long ago and has lived in a cave on the Vindhya since. He comes upon the vānaras there, starving and ready to die. When he hears of Jaṭāyu's death, he asks to be taken to the sea to offer water for his brother. His sight reaches a hundred yojanas, and he sees Sītā in Laṅkā.
