  1. Rāma lives in the hermitages of Daṇḍaka for ten years
  2. Agastya gives Rāma celestial weapons
  3. Śūrpaṇakhā is mutilated at Pañcavaṭī
  4. Rāma destroys Khara and his fourteen thousand rākṣasas
  5. Mārīca's golden deer; Sītā is abducted
  6. Jaṭāyu falls; Śabarī receives Rāma

Rāvaṇa comes to the hut as an ascetic and carries Sītā off.
