2 August 2026 · The highest devotee sees the presence of Bhagavān in all beings and all beings within Bhagavān, the Self of all.
श्रीहविरुवाच । सर्वभूतेषु यः पश्येद् भगवद्भावमात्मनः । भूतानि भगवत्यात्मन्येष भागवतोत्तमः ॥
śrī-havir uvāca | sarva-bhūteṣu yaḥ paśyed bhagavad-bhāvam ātmanaḥ | bhūtāni bhagavaty ātmany eṣa bhāgavatottamaḥ ||
“Śrī Havir said: One who sees the presence of Bhagavān in all beings and all beings in Bhagavān, the Self of all, is the highest Bhāgavata.”

Vedika commentary
This is not a vague claim that every difference disappears. The verse describes the vision of a bhāgavata-uttama, a devotee whose awareness of Bhagavān has become so complete that contempt for another being is no longer spiritually coherent. Distinctions remain, but they are encountered within relationship to the Divine. Devotion changes not only what one worships, but how one sees and treats life.
Vedika distinguishes the original Sanskrit, a literal rendering, and an interpretive paraphrase so that the words of the text are never confused with explanation.
