11 August 2026 · For one who has supreme devotion to the Deva and, as to the Deva, so to the teacher, the meanings taught here shine forth.
यस्य देवे परा भक्तिर्यथा देवे तथा गुरौ । तस्यैते कथिता ह्यर्थाः प्रकाशन्ते महात्मनः ॥ प्रकाशन्ते महात्मन इति ॥
yasya deve parā bhaktir yathā deve tathā gurau | tasyaite kathitā hy arthāḥ prakāśante mahātmanaḥ || prakāśante mahātmana iti ||
“For one who has supreme devotion to the Deva and, as to the Deva, so to the teacher, these meanings that have been declared shine forth to that great-souled one.”

Information alone does not guarantee understanding. This verse says the taught meanings 'shine forth' where devotion shapes the relationship to both the Divine and the teacher. Reverence can make a student attentive, patient and willing to practise. It should not be confused with surrendering conscience, tolerating abuse or treating a human teacher as beyond accountability. Authentic learning keeps devotion and discernment together.
