Scriptural verse

सं गच्छध्वं सं वदध्वं सं वो मनांसि जानताम् । देवा भागं यथा पूर्वे सञ्जानाना उपासते ॥

saṃ gacchadhvaṃ saṃ vadadhvaṃ saṃ vo manāṃsi jānatām | devā bhāgaṃ yathā pūrve saṃjānānā upāsate ||

Literal translation

Move together; speak together; let your minds know together, as the gods of old, being of one accord, attended their shared portion.

Vedika literal rendering, checked against H. H. Wilson and the Vedic text

Vedika paraphrase

Concord is not passive agreement. It is the practice of moving toward a shared purpose, speaking honestly and making room for mutual understanding.

Move together; speak together; let your minds come to shared understanding, as the gods of old, being of one accord, approached their allotted share. Ṛgveda 10.191.2

Vedika commentary

Unity here is active coordination, not forced sameness. A group becomes stronger when people can name a common purpose, speak clearly and still contribute distinct judgment.

Vedika distinguishes the original Sanskrit, a literal rendering, and an interpretive paraphrase so that the words of the text are never confused with explanation.
