पृणीयादिन्नाधमानाय तव्यान्द्राघीयांसमनु पश्येत पन्थाम् । ओ हि वर्तन्ते रथ्येव चक्रान्यमन्यमुप तिष्ठन्त रायः ॥
pṛṇīyād in nādhamānāya tavyān drāghīyāṃsam anu paśyeta panthām | o hi vartante rathyeva cakrānyam-anyam upa tiṣṭhanta rāyaḥ ||
“The person of means should indeed satisfy the one in need and look along the longer path; riches turn like chariot wheels, coming to one and then another.”

Vedika commentary
The image is practical: circumstances change, and wealth does not remain fixed. Giving now answers another person’s need and loosens the illusion that resources are permanently ours.
