यस्यामतं तस्य मतं मतं यस्य न वेद सः । अविज्ञातं विजानतां विज्ञातमविजानताम् ॥ ३॥
yasyāmataṃ tasya mataṃ mataṃ yasya na veda saḥ | avijñātaṃ vijānatāṃ vijñātam avijānatām || 3 ||
“It is understood by the one for whom it is not an object of thought; the one who thinks it understood does not know. It is unknown to those who know and known to those who do not claim to know.”

“The deepest reality is not another object the mind can possess. Humility keeps inquiry open where certainty would close it.”

Vedika commentary
This is not praise of ignorance. It distinguishes careful realization from the ego’s claim to have contained the limitless in a concept. Mature understanding can say both “I know” and “I cannot possess this as an object.”
Vedika distinguishes the original Sanskrit, a literal rendering, and an interpretive paraphrase so that the words of the text are never confused with explanation.
