“To the Goddess who abides in all beings in the form of discerning intelligence: salutations to Her, salutations to Her, salutations to Her again and again.”
Vedika literal rendering checked against the Devī Māhātmya Sanskrit text and Śākta interpretation; buddhi is rendered as discerning or determinative intelligence.
“When the faculty that weighs, distinguishes and decides is revered as Devī’s presence, careless judgment becomes a spiritual concern.”
Devī Māhātmya 5.20–22 (Mārkaṇḍeya Purāṇa)
Vedika commentary
Discernment is more than cleverness. It is the capacity to separate impulse from evidence, fear from duty and appearance from consequence. Treating that capacity as sacred encourages patience, humility and responsibility in how decisions are made.
Vedika distinguishes the original Sanskrit, a literal rendering, and an interpretive paraphrase so that the words of the text are never confused with explanation.
