ਆਈ ਪੰਥੀ ਸਗਲ ਜਮਾਤੀ ਮਨਿ ਜੀਤੈ ਜਗੁ ਜੀਤੁ ॥
āī panthī sagal jamātī mani jītai jagu jītu ||
“See all as fellow travellers of one fellowship; conquering the mind, one conquers the world.”
Vedika rendering informed by standard Sikh translations; Gurmukhī checked against Guru Granth Sahib, Ang 6.
“Guru Nānak turns conquest inward: the decisive victory is not domination of others but disciplined mastery of the mind.”
Guru Granth Sahib, Japjī Sāhib, Paurī 28, Ang 6
Vedika commentary
When the mind is ruled by comparison, anger or craving, outward wins reproduce the same captivity. Inner victory changes the quality of every relationship and responsibility.
Vedika distinguishes the original Sanskrit, a literal rendering, and an interpretive paraphrase so that the words of the text are never confused with explanation.
