“Nārada, however, says that [bhakti] is offering all conduct to Him and becoming supremely distressed at forgetting Him.”
Vedika literal rendering informed by traditional bhakti commentaries.
“Nārada defines devotion not as an isolated mood but as the offering of every mode of conduct to Bhagavān and an intense refusal to forget Him.”

Vedika commentary
An offering changes the quality of work before it changes the task. Attention shifts from self-display and resentment toward whom the action serves.
Vedika distinguishes the original Sanskrit, a literal rendering, and an interpretive paraphrase so that the words of the text are never confused with explanation.
