“Vedika interpretation: Power becomes character when you are free to take it — and choose restraint.”
Vālmīki Rāmāyaṇa, Ayodhyā Kāṇḍa 82
Vedika commentary
Restraint matters when an advantage is genuinely available. Refusing an improper claim need not mean abandoning responsibility: Bharata still acts to restore the order he believes is right.
Vedika distinguishes the original Sanskrit, a literal rendering, and an interpretive paraphrase so that the words of the text are never confused with explanation.
