“Vedika interpretation: Love does not always mean protection from difficulty; sometimes it means choosing the journey together.”
Vālmīki Rāmāyaṇa, Ayodhyā Kāṇḍa 30
Vedika commentary
Care should make room for the other person's voice. Choosing a difficult journey together is different from imposing sacrifice on someone in the name of love.
Vedika distinguishes the original Sanskrit, a literal rendering, and an interpretive paraphrase so that the words of the text are never confused with explanation.
