“Vedika interpretation: Loving someone does not require agreeing with their wrongdoing.”
Vālmīki Rāmāyaṇa, Yuddha Kāṇḍa 111.21–22
Vedika commentary
Affection and moral clarity can coexist. Naming a loved person's wrongdoing is not the absence of care, and their partner is not responsible for making them reform.
Vedika distinguishes the original Sanskrit, a literal rendering, and an interpretive paraphrase so that the words of the text are never confused with explanation.
