“Vedika interpretation: When does loyalty stop being a virtue?”
Vālmīki Rāmāyaṇa, Yuddha Kāṇḍa 16
Vedika commentary
Loyalty becomes morally difficult when it protects continuing harm. The narrative invites examination of complicity, not a blanket verdict that every disagreement justifies betrayal.
Vedika distinguishes the original Sanskrit, a literal rendering, and an interpretive paraphrase so that the words of the text are never confused with explanation.
