Vishvamitra
Viśvāmitra
Composer of the Gayatri Mantra — the most recited verse in human history
Vishvamitra was a king who through extraordinary tapas became a brahmarishi — the highest class of seer. He composed the Gayatri Mantra (Rigveda 3.62.10), chanted daily for over 4,000 years. His transformation from warrior-king to cosmic seer is the archetypal story of human will overcoming destiny.
